Chalet Trailhead Shuttle

It's here! The Chalet Shuttle!

We are excited to announce that Belton Chalets, Inc. will be offering a shuttle service for Granite Park and Sperry Chalet guests this summer.

There are significant transportation changes going into effect in 2026 and chalet guests will no longer be able to ride the National Park Service shuttle. The NPS shuttle is for day-users only and day-of check in at Apgar Transit Center or Lake McDonald Lodge is required to redeem your ticket. You can find more information here
https://www.nps.gov/glac/learn/news/glacier-national-park-remind-visitors-about-2026-shuttle-system-and-logan-pass-access-changes.htm

The main ways to access your trailhead are to take the Chalet Shuttle or drive yourself. Chalet guests are allowed to park at trailheads overnight for the nights of their stay (but not longer) and will be emailed an overnight parking pass to print and display prior to arrival. Please note that traffic and parking can be very congested in Glacier National Park. Because of the changes to the NPS shuttle system, and the increased competition for parking due to the growing number of park visitors, we've decided to offer our own shuttle service. Taking our shuttle can take the stress out of your arrival day by guaranteeing the following:

The Chalet Shuttle costs $40 per person roundtrip. Shuttles should be booked at least 30 days before your arrival. Trip times are filled first come, first serve. Inbound and outbound transportation times are confirmed at the time of booking. Space is limited and we expect our shuttles to sell out so reserve your spot today. Payment is due at the time of booking.

Transportation Details

Please arrive at your shuttle stop 10-15 minutes early. Our shuttle drivers are not able to wait for passengers not present by the departure times listed in the shuttle schedule. The Going to the Sun Road can experience traffic congestion, which may result in delays. Cell service is very limited in the park but we will do our best to communicate transportation updates related to trail closures, road closures, or significant traffic delays.

Entrance Parking / Quarter Circle Parking Lot

The Quarter Circle Parking Lot is a new parking lot right inside the West Entrance of Glacier National Park. Once you've paid your National Park entrance fee and passed through the West Entrance, take your first left onto Quarter Circle Bridge Road. The parking lot is located at the first left turn. Road signage is posted for Quarter Circle Parking. Chalet Shuttle passengers can park anywhere in the parking lot. Bathrooms are available but potable water is not. Please fill your water bottles before you arrive.

Lake McDonald shuttle stop

Passengers can meet the Chalet Shuttle at or adjacent to the NPS shuttle stop in the Lake McDonald Lodge parking lot, directly across from the lodge's camp store. Bathrooms and potable water are available.

The Loop shuttle stop

Passengers can meet the Chalet Shuttle at the first non-handicapped parking space next to the bathrooms in The Loop trailhead parking lot. Although this space is reserved for the Chalet Shuttle, if the parking space is taken the Chalet Shuttle will meet guests at or adjacent to the NPS shuttle stop. Bathrooms are available but potable water is not.

Logan Pass shuttle stop

Passengers will be dropped off at or adjacent to the NPS shuttle stop in the Logan Pass parking lot. Bathrooms and potable water are available.

Shuttle van

The Chalet Shuttle is a white 15-passenger Ford Econoline van. The van will be clearly marked as the Granite Park Chalet and Sperry Chalet, Chalet Shuttle.

FAQs

Do you offer transportation on the east side of Glacier National Park?

Not at this time. We have designed our route to offer transportation services to as many chalet guests as possible. If you’re arriving from the east side, your best options are to drive yourself or use one of the public or private shuttle services operating on the east side (this includes the National Park Service Logan Pass Shuttle, Many Glacier Hiker’s Shuttle, and Pursuit Glacier Park Shuttle). This year, the NPS Logan Pass Shuttle can work for inbound but not outbound transportation (see FAQ below).

Why can't I use the NPS Logan Pass shuttle for my inbound and outbound transportation?

This year, NPS shuttle passengers are required to have an advanced reservation for a specific date, departure time, and departure location. When passengers arrive for their inbound trip, they will receive a wristband that will be used to board their outbound shuttle later that day. Wristbands change daily so it is not possible for overnight guests to ride in and out. Also, because of the boarding locations (Apgar Visitor Center, Lake McDonald Lodge, St. Mary Visitor Center, Rising Sun Picnic Area) and boarding times it is not possible for chalet guests to book two separate NPS shuttle reservations for their arrival day and departure day. The NPS shuttle is designed for day-users. You can find further details on the National Park Service page here:
https://www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/shuttle-service-2026.htm

I want to hike in the Gunsight Pass Trail (Jackson Glacier Overlook trailhead), what are my transportation options?

The Chalet Shuttle and the NPS shuttle do not stop at Jackson Glacier Overlook this year (2026). You will need to arrange your own transportation.

As a Granite Park Chalet guest can I be picked up (outbound) at Logan Pass?

No, outbound pick up for Granite Park Chalets guests is at The Loop only. Our route is designed to accommodate as many chalet guests as possible.

Are parking passes required to park overnight in Glacier National Park?

Parking passes are required for Logan Pass and preferred for all other trailheads. Parking passes for extended and overnight parking at Logan Pass are only valid for the duration of your chalet stay. Parking passes will be emailed to chalet guests 3-4 weeks prior to arrival. Passes should be printed and placed on the car dashboard, clearly visible from the outside.

Are vehicle reservations required for the Going-to-the-Sun Road?

Vehicle reservations are no longer required to enter Glacier National Park. You are still required to pay an entrance fee to enter the park.
